The Philadelphia Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will provide a 1 1/2 hour long barbershop performance at three Northeast Philadelphia area retirement/assisted living facilities.

Troupe de Fetiche is a large-scale experimental video project that explores the conceptual, aesthetic, and psychological implications digital technology has had on visual representation.

Grants will help fund the exhibit and presentations of Pennsylvania Hands, a narrative of photographic portraits of Pennsylvanians who work with their hands creating functional items that are, today, made by machines, if at all.

Spring Garden Senior Center will provide a music program that teaches seniors the history of Black jazz pioneers through musical workshops led by leading musicians and historians that highlight legendary Philadelphia jazz venues.

Dolce Suono Ensemble will develop a project that involves music educational outreach activities for students of Esperanza Academy, a charter high school in North Philadelphia. The program will provide coaching, master classes, and a side-by-side concert.

Bowerbird will present the Philadelphia première of American composer Morton Feldman's String Quartet No. 2, a monumental six hour long string quartet to be performed by the Flux Quartet.

Oasis | $2,197
Oasis is an arts and education program in Philadelphia that offers classes and workshops to adults and children in who are marginalized as a result of mental illness and/or retardation. Oasis will continue its successful Artist in Residence, which fosters inclusion between Oasis' student-artists and professional local artists.
