Unconscious Bias Series

Creating Equity & Belonging in the Workforce

Join the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance for the Unconscious Bias Series: Creating Equity & Belonging in the Workforce, a series of four workshops for arts and culture organizations to understand how unconscious biases can impact the workplace and the people in it. Through four, two-hour workshops, participants will learn more about implicit biases in race, accessibility, class and age. This series facilitated by The Realize Leadership Group is geared toward arts and culture professionals who are executive leaders, hiring managers, human resources professionals and team managers.

What is Unconscious Bias?

Bias is a form of prejudice that is used to favor or “other” a characteristic, person or group. There are two types of biases, Conscious, which is explicit bias and Unconscious, which is implicit. Unconscious bias is derived from the subconscious in which social stereotypes constructed by society influence the individual’s decisions without their full awareness.
