Call for Artists: Percent for Art Opportunity

Location - Riverview Wellness Village

Creative Philadelphia and the Capital Program Office are announcing an open call to commission site-specific, permanent, public artworks to be installed at the Riverview Wellness Village located in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia.

This permanent artwork will provide an opportunity for an artist or a team of artists to create multiple complimentary outdoor sculptures (2-3 total). Applications through Submittable are due by Sept. 22, 2025, at 11:59PM.

Priority will be given to local artists who live or work in the greater Philadelphia area. We especially encourage artists who have personal insight into substance use disorder – whether through lived experience (Personal disclosure is welcome but not required), family roles, or professional work with affected communities. We also strongly encourage applications from artists who represent the diversity of Philadelphia and the local community.

Creative Philadelphia will host an optional Artist Informational Meeting on Thursday, August 2 at 6 p.m. to provide interested applicants an opportunity to learn more about the project, application process, and expectations. Register for the Artist Informational Meeting.

This public art commission is possible through the City's Percent for Art  program and is part of Mayor Parker’s new Wellness Ecosystem Initiative, which addresses a critical gap in Philadelphia’s wellness ecosystem by supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorder.
