The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is seeking a dynamic specialist in historical American art to fill the Kenneth R. Woodcock Curator of Historical American Art position. PAFA is devoted to a curatorial program that intertwines academic rigor and expertise with a deep focus on broadening our audience in innovative ways.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Marketing and Communications will help shape the brand and narrative for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) to increase awareness of the organization locally and nationally, enhance its reputation, and expand its audiences and revenue streams for America's first museum and art school.

Our Public Engagement Representatives are part of a dynamic team whose goal is to greet and interact with Museum guests. Individuals in this position are responsible for selling tickets to the museum, historic ships, and boat rentals, assisting customers in the Museum Store, as well as occasionally assisting with the waterfront and public programming all while making customer service the highest priority.

Teen Lounge at Fleisher Art Memorial is now accepting workshop proposals for our Winter and Spring terms from January to May until Sunday, October 20 at 11:59 PM. 

Teen Lounge is a free, drop-in after school arts program providing young people ages 13-19 with opportunities to meet and collaborate with working Philly artists. Past workshop topics have included sewing plush monsters, rug tufting, Nerikomi ceramics, character design, figure drawing, and more!  

The Boat Shop Educator and Technician is an ambassador to discovery, learning, and safety in the Independence Seaport Museum's Boat Shop. The Educator and Technician reports primarily to the Director of Boat Shop and Waterfront Operations. This staff member will lead instruction of the SAILOR Program from fall through winter. In the summer, they will assist with on-water fleet maintenance, implementation of shop programming, and assist with interpretive projects in the boat shop and on the ships.
