Jax Gilliam

Jax works with the Communications team to develop and create social media content and strategy, construct content for email and web, and to assist with the Cultural Alliance’s research projects, as the Social Media and Communications Coordinator. Before joining the Cultural Alliance team, Jax was a Social Media Assistant for Parsons School of Design. Jax also has a BA in Art History and a BFA in Fine Arts from The New School. In their free time they enjoy all things creative including painting, sculpture, yoga, and modern dance.

Social Media and Communications Coordinator

Kate Huffman

Kate (she/her) works with the fundraising team as Director of Development & Board Liaison and is responsible for managing institutional fundraising, building relationships with individual donors, and overseeing board activities. Before joining the Cultural Alliance team, Kate was the External Affairs Manager at The Philly POPS. Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Kate lived in Boston and volunteered with MassCreative, Massachusetts' state-wide arts advocacy organization, on their Leadership Council. Kate has a Bachelor's degree in Music from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and a Master's degree in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London. In addition to being Director of Development & Board Liaison, Kate plays clarinet with the Philadelphia Freedom Band and enjoys listening to live music, running, and hanging out with her cats.

Kasya O'Connor Grant

Kasya O’Connor Grant studied American Studies with a concentration in Education Policy at Kenyon College and now is part of the Bloomberg Arts Internship (BA) team as an Internship Manager, where she helps to run the summer high school internship program at cultural sites throughout the city of Philadelphia. Along with her support of the BAI program, Kasya works as a Development and Communications Coordinator for a crisis response non-profit,which she began doing prior to joining the Cultural Alliance team. In addition to being the Internship Manager, Kasya enjoys reading, cooking shakshuka, and playing with her cats Boris and Anja.

O'Connor Grant

Kabria Rogers

Kabria Rogers works with the Audience Engagement team to develop leadership, project management and audience building skills in a wide range of activities, including managing sales for the various programs, developing marketing strategies, and leading audience-building initiatives as Audience Services Manager. Before joining the Cultural Alliance team, Kabria was their Interim Operations Manager for Science History Conference Center. Kabria has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Writing from Kings College. She enjoys reading, writing, daydreaming about superhero adventures and spending quality time with friends and family.

Lauren Gilmore

Lauren (she/her/hers) works closely with the President and Chief Officer for Finance & Administration as part of the Administrative team to oversee the Membership Program, DEI & Anti-Racism work, Job Bank and keep things running smoothly around the office as Director of Member Engagement & Administration. Before joining the Cultural Alliance team, Lauren was Assistant Director of Admission at Westminster Choir College. Lauren has a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Voice Pedagogy and Performance. In addition to being Director of Member Engagement & Administration, Lauren volunteers with different arts organizations around the city and enjoys reading, traveling and her yoga practice.

Roberta Johnson

Roberta (she/her/hers) has a Bachelor’s in Crime, Law, and Justice with a minor in Art History and a Master’s in Arts Administration. As Vice President of Audience Engagement, Roberta oversees the Cultural Alliance’s marketing programs, including the Phillyfunguide, its discount-ticketing program, Funsavers, as well as the Cultural Alliance’s audiences building research initiatives. Prior to joining the Cultural Alliance team, Roberta was a branch coordinator for Settlement Music School. In addition to being Vice President of Audience Engagement, Roberta enjoys knitting, reading, volunteering and is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Pennsylvania Chapter.

Tom Bonner

Tom holds a master’s degree in Arts Administration from Drexel University, as well as certificates in Arts and Culture Strategy and Project Management from the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, respectively. As the Director of Community Partnerships, he leads the planning and implementation of the Bloomberg Arts Internship, helps to develop and manage strategic partnerships, and guides quarterly planning at the Cultural Alliance.

Before joining the Cultural Alliance team, Tom was a project management and communications consultant supporting arts, culture and education in Philadelphia and beyond. He has helped to plan and execute dozens of programs and events in partnership with artists, educators and companies from coast to coast.

Allie Vanyur

Allie (she/her) received her BS in Entertainment & Arts Management, with a concentration in Dance and a minor in Business Administration, from Drexel University. As Senior Programs Manager, she manages the Cultural Alliance’s grantmaking efforts including the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts re-granting program and the COVID-19 Arts Aid PHL fund; coordinates curriculum and worksite management for the Bloomberg Arts Internship; and serves as project manager for the Annual Meeting. Before joining the Cultural Alliance, Allie served as Communications Associate for The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and as Marketing & Communications Manager for BalletX. Allie is a board member of The Movement Foundation, and enjoys yoga, hiking and attending live music concerts.

Frances Ellison

Frances joined the Cultural Alliance in 2016 as the Digital Content Coordinator and became the Assistant Manager of Digital Marketing in 2017 as a part of the Audience Engagement team. She manages the Funsuite (the Phillyfunguide and Funsavers programs), and handles all customer service, digital content creation and inquiry for both programs, building all Funsavers offers and weekly emails and soliciting organizations to submit events for both.

Frances received her B.A. in Communications with a concentration in Journalism and Professional Writing in 2015 from Chestnut Hill College. In one of her many past lives, she has written for the Chestnut Hill College Magazine and Philadelphia Weekly. In addition to running the Funsuite, Frances enjoys aerial acrobatics, cooking, gardening and snuggle time with her cat.

Kristen Vinh

Kristen (she/her) studied Journalism at Temple University. As Senior Manager of Data and Communications, Kristen manages survey design and data analysis for research about our members and the cultural community and oversees external communications to our members, advocates and the broader cultural community. Prior to joining the Cultural Alliance team in 2015, Kristen was a reporter for Generocity. Kristen is an avid knitter, enjoys running and reading.
