Science History Institute

The Science History Institute is recruiting for a part-time, benefit-eligible (28–34 hours per week) Building Services Assistant, who will be responsible for performing both interior and exterior duties such as handling mail and package processes; replenishing restroom and kitchen/break room products; monitoring and restocking first aid kits; and assisting with office supply orders. The Building Services Assistant will also assist maintenance staff in performing light janitorial duties. This position is in-office and is not eligible for remote work.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of two years of professional related experience
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Must have ability to work weekday afternoon shifts (Monday through Friday), as well as occasional evenings and/or Saturdays 
  • Possess a pleasant customer-focused demeanor with the ability to work effectively with all staff members and Institute visitors
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail with a high level of courteous professionalism

The starting hourly salary for this position is $20.50. Salary offer may be slightly higher based on candidate’s experience. Benefits include medical and dental coverage for employee, paid time off, and generous 403(b) employer match.
