Germantown Community Radio (G-Town Radio) is a nonprofit, low-power FM community radio station serving Germantown and Northwest Philadelphia (19144, 19138, 19118) and streaming worldwide. Our mission is to amplify local voices, culture, history, and movements for social change through community-centered media.

Position Summary

Germantown Community Radio seeks a part-time Fundraising & Development Associate to help grow and diversify our revenue base. This role will focus on securing foundation, corporate, and individual support, with a particular emphasis on local donors and institutions in Germantown and Northwest Philadelphia.

The ideal candidate is community-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable building authentic relationships with donors, funders, and small businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

• Identify, research, and cultivate foundation, corporate, and individual donors aligned with G-Town Radio’s mission
• Support grant prospecting and assist with proposal development, reporting, and funder stewardship
• Develop and implement strategies to grow individual giving, including sustainers and small-dollar donors

Community-Based Development

• Build relationships with Germantown- and Northwest Philadelphia–based businesses, faith institutions, community organizations, and civic leaders
• Represent G-Town Radio at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities
• Help design locally resonant fundraising campaigns that reflect community values and priorities

Donor Engagement & Communications

• Assist with donor communications, including appeals, thank-you letters, and impact updates
• Maintain accurate donor records and tracking systems
• Collaborate with station leadership and programmers to connect fundraising with on-air and digital storytelling

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with the Station Manager, Board, and volunteers on development goals
• Provide regular progress updates, metrics, and recommendations

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, community organizing, or related fields
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Familiarity with Germantown and Northwest Philadelphia communities strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage limited hours efficiently
• Comfort representing a mission-driven, grassroots organization
• Grant writing experience is a plus but not required
