Grounds Maintenance and Gardens Associate (Weekends)

Position Classification: Part-Time (16 hours a week):

Schedule: 8am to 4:00pm Saturday and Sundays (1/2 hour unpaid lunch).

Pay: $20/hr

Benefits: $200/month health stipend with proof of third party health insurance, sick leave.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide grounds keeping services for the Arch Street Meeting House and property including but not limited to garden and lawn care, snow and leaf removal, trash removal and maintaining supplies inventory and submitting requests to keep inventory up to date.
2. Maintain and service grounds equipment. This includes, carrying out minor and semi-skilled repairs and maintenance on ground equipment and carrying our repairs to exterior infrastructure such as painting, parking lot bumpers, signs, storage containers and woodwork.
3. Conduct Seasonal Garden plantings and weed garden beds following set schedule.
4. Inspect parking lot permit tags on Saturdays.
5. Assist with rentals as assigned by ASMH staff, some flexibility required on weekend evening on rare occurrences.
6. Collaborate with other ASMH staff in a collegial manner
7. Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Three or more years of building maintenance, custodial, or grounds keeping experience.
• Ability to perform basic grounds trades, including lawn mowing, weed whacking, snow removal, leaf blowing.
• Ability to drive grounds equipment, including a Kubota.  
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices, including OSHA safety regulations
• Ability to maintain records and prepare simple reports
• Excellent communications skills
• Computer and technology skills:  ability to use email, MS Office and shared filing, scheduling and communications tools, electronic security systems, and audio/visual equipment
• Ability to perform work in an orderly and accurate manner
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and perform other physical activities which require good physical condition
• Ability to get to Arch Street Meeting House when it snows.
