Position Classification: Part-Time (Roughly 19 hours a week)
Schedule: 9am to 5:30 Saturdays and Sundays (including a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch), and 3 to 4 evening hours per week. Some flexibility on weekends evening will be required during busy rental periods.
Pay: $20/hr
Benefits: $200/month health stipend with proof of third party health insurance, sick leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide weekend and evening janitorial services for the Arch Street Meeting House including but not limited to cleaning the meeting house, cleaning during and after food service events, assisting in cleaning the grounds during snow events or storms, and maintaining building supplies inventory.
- Prepare building spaces for rentals or events, maintain spaces during rentals or events, breakdown spaces after rentals or events have concluded.
- Maintain and service building equipment and systems. This includes, carrying out minor and semi-skilled repairs (such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting or plastering), and scheduling and ensuring completion of various larger projects with contractors/maintenance/repair vendors.
- Inform staff of skilled maintenance needs. Meet with maintenance/repair vendors and monitor vendors on weekends to ensure work is carried per contracted terms.
- Follow a cyclical schedule of maintenance tasks.
- Respond to weekend security issues.
- Collaborate with other ASMH staff in a collegial manner
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- One or more years of building maintenance, janitorial/custodial experience.
- Ability to perform basic building trades duties, eg. plumbing, electric, carpentry
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices, including OSHA, L&I and EPA safety regulations
- Ability to maintain records and prepare simple reports
- Excellent communications skills
- Have or ability to get SafeServe Certification, and basic First Aid Certification.
- Computer and technology skills: ability to use email, MS Office and shared filing, scheduling and communications tools, electronic security systems, and audio/visual equipment
- Ability to perform work in an orderly and accurate manner
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and perform other physical activities which require good physical condition
