Mollusks Collection Assistant (InverEBase, NSF Grant #EF 14-02697)


     ●     The Mollusks Collection Assistant assists the Mollusk staff with finding specimens in the

             Collection and updating computer records. 

Essential Functions:

     ●     Locate the physical specimens listed on the inventory

     ●     Put specimen lots in numerical order

     ●     Reorganize data slips for each lot of specimens

     ●     Update inventory records with missing data

     ●     Perform other grant-related duties as required or requested

Minimum Qualifications:

     ●     College degree or actively taking college courses in pursuit of a degree

     ●     Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite applications

     ●     Interest in natural history collections

     ●     Excellent organizational skills

     ●     Ability to work independently as well as effectively and harmoniously as part of a team that

             includes the Curator of Mollusks and Technology Specialist for the InvertEBase


     ●     Ability to stand for the time required to work in the collection cabinets

     ●     Ability to lift and move objects on occasion weighing up to 25 lbs.


     ●     This is a part-time, temporary position.  The schedule is flexible, but not in less than 3-hour

             blocks, with an exact scheduled determined in collaboration with the Curator of Mollusks.  The

             period of employment will not exceed 300 hours without prior approval for the Curator of
