Glen Foerd seeks energetic, outgoing individuals to assist with our summer kayaking programs on a part-time, seasonal basis. On-Water Kayaking Assistants will aid with 2-hour excursions on the Poquessing Creek and Delaware River. Excursions run Saturdays and Sundays, depending on the tides, beginning in mid-May through mid-October. Assistants may also act as a chase boat driver when not assisting on the trip via kayak. This is a part-time, seasonal position that reports to the Environmental Program Manager, Environmental and On-Water Program Coordinator/Educator, and works collaboratively with all Glen Foerd staff and volunteers.

Under the supervision of Fleisher’s Manager of Children & Youth Education, the Summer Camp Coordinator provides logistical support for Fleisher’s 2023 Summer Camp and After Camp Club. During the term, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM this position will provide support during lunch, class transitions, and class activities. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM this position be the point person and administrator of the “After Camp Club” for campers staying until 5:30 PM.  

This position requires a highly organized person with experience working with children 5 - 12. The ideal candidate would have excellent visitor service skills as well as a flexible working style. This position would work onsite from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, from June 5 to July 28. This includes a mandatory training session for staff and faculty on Wednesday, June 14 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

This part-time Library position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Ryerss Museum and Library, located within an historic house museum operated through Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.  The is not a seasonal position but is offered as a year around position.  This position is responsible for assisting patrons of the library; shelving, arranging, sorting, dispatching and filing of library materials; evaluation of library materials, coordination of the McNaughton Book Lending Program, and assists with staffing of Ryerss Museum and Library special events and programming as needed.   

Visionary experimental theater company Applied Mechanics seeks candidates for the position of Assistant to the Director to work on the upcoming process and production of its epic science fiction installation play OTHER ORBITS. The Assistant to the Director will assist with all aspects of co-producing and directing this large scale immersive production.  

Glen Foerd is seeking a Seasonal, Part-Time Event Supervisor to oversee the historic property during private, catered events and to provide oversight of all Visitor Services Assistants (VSA’s). The Event Supervisor will report to the Business Manager.   More details on work hours can be found below.

The Event Supervisor handles all issues with the facility that may arise during the event. At the end of the night, the Event Supervisor locks up and ensures that the mansion and grounds are closed. Because the Event Supervisor is the only Glen Foerd staff on-site during evening events, he/she must be reliable, independent, and have a strong attention to detail. As the manager on-site, the Event Supervisor ensures that the rental client, catering staff and all third-party vendors always adhere to Glen Foerd’s policies and procedures, including clean-up and noise level requirements. As such, Event Supervisors must be self-confident and comfortable addressing issues directly.
