Part-Time Front of House Staff

 

People’s Light in Malvern, PA is now accepting applications for part-time Front of House Staff. People’s Light has two theaters (350 seat, 170 seat), which are support by a Front of House Team in the following positions:

Assistant House Manger
House Usher
Concessions Cashier
Concessions Barista
Bar Tender
Merchandise Cashier

 

House management offers 15-29 hours per week and is great for anyone interested in working with the public in a non-profit arts setting. The front of house staff is responsible for the total audience experience when they come to see a performance at People’s Light.  From the moment the patron walks through the door to the moment they walk out.  

Scheduling:  Shifts are assigned monthly. Successful candidates must be willing to provide a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including 1 shift on a weekend (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) of availability per week. Front of House hours are made up primarily of evening and weekend hours, along with occasional daytime hours. Candidates must have a reliable form of transportation. 

 

Reports directly to:  Front of House Manager

 

Responsibilities:

Stuffing programs.
Taking tickets at the door.
Ushering (program handout and guiding patrons to their seats)
Selling merchandise and concessions before the performance and at intermission.
Cleaning the theater and lobby area after performances.      
Other various tasks related to creating a welcoming and accessible theatre environment.

 

Experience/Qualifications:

Applicants should be comfortable with face to face patron interaction.
At ease with monetary sales/transactions.
Customer service and retail experience is a plus.
