Position Summary

The IT Systems Administrator is part of the Information Technology (IT) and operations staff and serves as the network administrator for administrative, infrastructural, and exhibition-related technologies. Administrator also participates in systems planning, deployments, and management of infrastructure, network and server hardware, and applications. Administrator ensures high availability of network, email, and internet services and client/server applications.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

•      Ensure end-user satisfaction regarding IT performance and support

Establish and manage vendor relationships
Provide telephone, email, and face-to-face  support for all Center staff as required
Troubleshoot Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office 2010/2013, and MAC application and workstation/peripheral problems
Provide end-to-end implementation of hardware, application, storage, and networking initiatives
Administer Active Directory and Group Policy in a Windows Server 2008/2012 R2 environment
Configure, update, and maintain items that include, but are not limited to, network routers, wireless access points, switches, and firewalls for LAN/WLAN and Internet
Create and maintain automated deployment solutions for operating system, office suites, and applications
Maintain distributed file shares and associated hardware, including, but not limited to, SAN array and fibre switches
Create and enforce domain policy for workstations, servers, and network equipment to maintain a secure posture without compromising business productivity; conduct regular security audits and coordinate with external auditors
Provide high-level support for Definity switch, AUDIX system, and related telecommunications equipment; create and manage automated system attendants and call vectoring
Provide high-level server administration and support. Maintain system availability and provide performance level metrics on critical business servers; plan and implement new servers, operating systems, applications, and upgrades
Periodically work with audio visual staff to resolve IT-related exhibition issues and provide improvements in system management and user experience
Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Information technology/Networking preferred, but not required. Certifications in Information technology/networking are a plus but not required
Minimum 2 year previous IT experience required without a college degree
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Desktop, and server operating systems required
Hands on working knowledge of PCs and printers required
Hardware familiarity with PC and server internal components as well as switchers, routers, and wireless access points required
Understanding of network protocols, infrastructure, and configurations required; Cisco IOS experience highly preferred, but not required
Experience with server and workstation virtualization preferred, but not required
MAC OSX experience preferred, but not required
Scripting and/or programming experience preferred, but not required
Mobile device experience, including, but not limited to, IOS, Blackberry, and Windows mobile preferred, but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work weekends, evening hours, or holidays as needed and assigned

                              

Physical Demands

•      Standing and walking may be required on an infrequent basis

•      Some moderate lifting, fifty (50) pounds or less, may be required on an infrequent basis

May be required to work in a kneeling, stooping, bending, or prone position for a prolonged period of time on a frequent basis
