Summer Camp Group Leader

Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture is seeking Group Leaders to join our 2026 Arab Arts & Culture Summer Camp leadership team. Group Leaders oversee a group of camper and supervise the counselors assigned to their group. They help ensure that counselors are supported, the daily schedule runs smoothly, logistics are being implemented, and that camp programming centers Arab arts, culture, teamwork, and play is delivered safely. 
The position is ideal for individuals with experience managing youth programs, leading tea,s with varied age groups, or working in education, arts education, or youth camp settings. 
Lessons at the camp: Arabic, Calligraphy, Visual Arts, Percussion, Swimming, Storytelling, Music  (outdoor/indoor)  

Needed commitment: Two weeks / June 22 - July 3 (no weekends) 
Time: 8:30am-5pm 
Location: Awbury Recreation Center (6101 Ardleigh Street, Philadelphia, PA 19138) 

Key Responsibilities- Oversee a group of campers and directly supervise assigned counselors- Ensure counselors understand their roles, stay engaged, and maintain a safe and positive environment. - Lead transitions, take attendance, enforce behavior expectations, and ensure smooth daily routines. - Communicate proactively with camp leadership about their group needs, concern, or incidents. -Support teaching artists and fill in the gaps with classroom management if needed. - Foster a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming community for all campers and counselors. - Lead with set-up, clean-up, outdoor supervision, and logistical tasks. - Model leadership, professionalism, and consistency for both campers and counselors. 

Qualifications - Experience supervising youth or managing staff/volunteers in a camp, school, or community setting. - Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide both youth and adults. - Ability to remain calm, organized, and collaborative. - Interested in Arab arts education and culture, and youth development Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintain a safe program environment. 

Compensation: $1,600 for the two weeks + compensation for orientation hours before summer camp

* Must be 18 years old and above 
* 18+ Must submit 3 required clearances (child abuse, FBI finger print, and Criminal history) - We cover the expenses for these
* Must be available in person for the whole duration of camp days & times-no exceptions * We don't provide visa sponsorship
