The Branch Director is responsible for the educational, artistic, and administrative management of the Mary Louise Curtis Branch (MLC) which is the founding branch of Settlement Music School. The Branch Director works as a member of the senior management in the overall administration of Settlement. The person will work closely with all Branch Directors, Program Staff, and the Dean to build upon successful program development models to encourage student recruitment from the community. The Mary Louise Curtis Branch Director is integral to building new partnerships and developing existing ones in the local community, which has been an area of tremendous growth for the School in the past several years.

The Education Administrator reports to the Director of Education and Community Outreach and is responsible for supporting the administrative needs and duties of the Arden’s educational programming and community engagement activities. Arden’s primary education programs include: Arden for All, Arden Drama School and Summer Camp, Arden Professional Apprenticeship (APA) program, and Teen Arden. Though this is primarily an administrative position, the Education Administrator will also teach on a limited basis. The position requires evening and weekend hours.

This position is responsible for the production of custom made museum crates, travel frames, inner boxes, and inner components that are at times complex. Fabricators are familiar with a wide range of hand and power tools, including table saws, band saws, miter saws, routers and drills/impact drivers. Self motivation, time management, and attention to detail are essential qualities. Accurate measuring, basic arithmetic, and precise construction are also key. Previous experience with construction of fabrication is required. Previous experience with crate construction and shipping artwork, as well as material concerns related to artwork, is preferred. Experience with carpentry or cabinet making outside of an academic setting is a plus.
