Job Title: Operations Assistant
Reports To: Operations Director
Job Summary: The Operations Assistant is responsible for executing operational duties in support of the program divisions of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute (PYOMI). This is a paid, part time/hourly position; reports to and is supervised by the Operations Director.
Job Description
Administrative
- Supervise students and entry/egress from the rehearsal and/or concert facility.
- Monitor visitor entry/exit as assigned.
- Attend PYOMI program division rehearsals as assigned.
- Attend PYOMI program division performances as assigned.
- Keep schedule and time/reporting information current through PYOMI designated platforms.
- Submit timecards to the Operations Director at the close of each month.
Facility Management
- Execute ensemble set-ups before the start of the rehearsal period and pack up after rehearsal.
- Maintain facility according to the PYOMI Operations plan, including where/how chairs, music stands, tables, instruments, and other physical assets are kept.
- Ensure that PYOMI assets are kept in usable and clean conditions.
- Report equipment maintenance needs promptly to the Operations Director and work through solutions.
- Assist in transporting equipment for off-site rehearsals and/or performances.
- Assist with cleaning and facility upkeep projects.
- Assist with other facility projects as assigned.
Other
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong background and understanding of orchestral classical music.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and capable of achieving results with limited supervision.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.
Education Level: Minimum high school diploma; college degree preferred.
Compensation: $20 per hour; 15 hours per week, minimum
