Summer Camp Art Instructors
Abington Art Center is currently seeking Youth Art Instructors for our Summer Arts Camps. We are in need of visual art instructors for our 4-6 year, 7-9 and 9-12, 13-16 year old morning and afternoon camps. Teachers are contracted weekly with the potential to work in the morning, afternoon or both. Our teachers range from professional Teaching Artists sharing their skills to Certified Art Instructors. Applicants are required to have experience working with students in the age range they are applying to teach. We offer small class sizes in a fun creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement art lesson plans for our Weekly Summer Camp Classes
- Teach students various art techniques, including drawing, painting, and sculpture
- Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their artistic skills
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and self-expression
We are in need of general arts camp teachers for our morning camps as well as afternoon specialty camp teachers for Ceramics, Comics & Illustration, Printmaking, Fibers and Sculpture.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or a related field preferred
- Previous experience teaching art to grade school aged students REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques and mediums
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

Pay Rate: $25/hour
