Ministry of Awe (MoA) is Philadelphia’s next cultural jewel — a transformative, interactive art experience set to open in March 2026. Housed in the historic Manufacturer’s National Bank in Old City, the Ministry will be a 6-story, traversable, immersive world exploring themes of value, surveillance, exchange, currency, and humanness.
The Senior Floor Manager oversees the daily guest experience, ensuring every visitor is welcomed, oriented, safe, and emotionally engaged. This role leads all front-line teams—ticketing, retail, security, maintenance, performers, and interns—to deliver a seamless, “show-ready” environment where timed-entry flows smoothly, bottlenecks are minimized, and issues are resolved quickly and professionally. This position sets clear service standards, conducts training, and fosters a culture of hospitality and awe. They enforce safety and security protocols, manage incident response and documentation and coordinates closely with facilities and technical teams to maintain exhibit readiness. Through consistent reporting and continuous improvement informed by guest and staff feedback, the Senior Floor Manager ensures the experience is organized, magical, and consistently high-quality.
Weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) availability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a seamless, “show-ready” environment; manage timed-entry pacing, crowd flow, wayfinding, and guest communications; resolve escalations with professionalism and empathy.
- Manage front-line teams (ticketing, retail, security, maintenance, performers, interns); uphold service standards and a culture of hospitality and awe; jump in to relieve staff when needed.
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director to craft and implement modes of awesomeness within front line staff through performance and customer service.
- Enforce safety and security protocols; oversee crowd control and emergency readiness; manage and document incidents and follow-up actions.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures; actively monitor the floor during operating hours to ensure exhibits are functional and performers are supported. Partner with technical and maintenance teams to maintain safe, guest-ready spaces, and use internal systems to track maintenance issues and communicate real-time updates to the operations team.
- Maintain daily reports and performance summaries; track trends, risks, and operational needs.
- Maintain high service and operational standards by ensuring procedures are followed in practice; regularly assess and reinforce consistency across all front-of-house roles.
- Act as a central point of communication for front-line staff, ensuring clarity on schedules, expectations, and daily operational updates.
- Work with and communicate effectively with the rest of the Operations Team
Experience:
- Experience in stage management, event management, or a related field
- Ability to anticipate issues and respond proactively
- Strong sound judgment with the ability to remain calm, professional, and take initiative during chaotic, high-pressure, or unexpected situations
- Experience managing large crowds and fast-paced live environments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional, and effective feedback and expectations to onsite staff
