Communications Manager

The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society (PCMS) and Marlboro Music seek a Communications Manager to
assist with promotion of our annual concert season and summer festival, including content creation, social
media management, audience engagement, and public relations.

The Communications Manager will:

• Promote and advance the organizations’ mission, goals, and values, and work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Director, Communications Director, and other key staff.
• Manage PCMS and Marlboro social media channels (Instagram and Facebook), creating photo, video, and written content to drive audience engagement and increase institutional visibility.
• Help to prepare media releases and coordinate media coverage with artist managers, public relation firms, and press.
• Collaborate on production of email newsletters and other online materials, including pre-concert and intermission content for livestreamed PCMS performances, promotion of Musicians from Marlboro tour concerts, website content, and event listing platforms.
• Manage Marlboro’s online visitors’ guide, including annual outreach and coordination with local businesses.
• Proofread concert programs and other marketing and communications materials.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with content management system (e.g., WordPress), email marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp), design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, CapCut), or the ability to learn these applications quickly.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel/Docs (Microsoft or Google Suite).
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

Requirements:

• Full-Time position: Regular office hours on-site at our Center City office, plus some evenings and weekends. During the summer months (mid-July to mid-August), the position relocates to Marlboro, VT to support summer festival communications. Full room and board and travel stipend provided.
• A college or conservatory degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in marketing and/or communications.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range of $54,000-$57,000 commensurate with experience.

• Two weeks paid vacation plus one week between Christmas and New Year’s.
