The Articulate Foundation

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Articulate Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization best known as the producer of the Emmy Award-winning public television program, Articulate with Jim Cotter. Through Articulate, its associated digital media platforms, and other educational vehicles, the Foundation connects broadcast, digital, and classroom audiences to the human stories behind art.

The Foundation is seeking a full-time Digital Media Manager to grow Articulate’s broadcast and streaming audiences by planning and executing all web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and digital advertising content and campaigns. The position will also support the Executive Director’s fundraising activities through digital relationship building and assisting with online and in-person (as public health guidelines permit) donor events and public programs.

Incorporated in 2015, the Foundation operates with two full-time staff members and works closely with Articulate Studios, a nine-person production company. We seek candidates with the attributes necessary to thrive in our organizational culture: flexible, persistent, collaborative, competent, solutions-oriented, and open-minded.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties

With Executive Director, set and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing goals and strategies

Build and maintain a database of historical digital ad spend, strategy, and results; research, identify, and target top-engaging audience segments on each digital platform

Manage and post new content to social media platforms, YouTube, and the Articulate website; create original content or coordinate content creation with Articulate production team for social media and web advertisements

Manage paid search accounts, including a Google Ad Grant, to improve Articulate SEO and overall digital visibility

Write the monthly newsletter; grow newsletter list and engagement

Make digital ad buys from media outlets serving target audiences

With Executive Director, use Articulate digital platforms to reach and grow the Foundation’s donor base

Other marketing and development projects as assigned by Executive Director

 

Required Qualifications

BA or equivalent experience

3-5 years of prior relevant work experience

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to craft compelling, audience/platform-specific content

Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and to simultaneously manage multiple projects with varying timelines

Facility with Microsoft Office and Google products, WordPress, social media and social media management tools (Loomly, Hootsuite)

 

Desired Qualifications

Facility with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Adobe Premiere Pro

Experience promoting media, public media, music, or the arts

Copyediting

Experience assisting fundraising operations within a nonprofit

 

Starting salary of $55,000, plus a benefits package that includes fully employer-subsidized health insurance, Simple IRA with employer match, and generous paid leave.
