Position Summary

The Individual Giving Manager plays a key role in advancing Fleisher’s fundraising and engagement strategy by cultivating a thriving community of supporters through both individual philanthropy and membership. This position will design and implement strategies to expand Fleisher’s base of support, deepen donor and member engagement, and increase unrestricted and programmatic revenue through annual giving, mid-level and major giving, and membership growth.

By managing relationships with individual donors and leading a dynamic membership program, the Individual Giving Manager ensures that supporters see themselves as essential partners in Fleisher’s mission. Working collaboratively across departments, the Individual Giving Manager will align donor and member communications, stewardship, and cultivation with Fleisher’s values and brand, helping to build a culture of philanthropy and belonging that sustains Fleisher’s impact for years to come.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Donor & Member Strategy

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, focusing on annual gifts up to $10,000.
  • Design and implement strategies to recruit, retain, and engage members, positioning membership as both a community touchpoint and a pathway to deeper philanthropy.
  • Develop tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that inspire generosity and foster authentic connections.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and qualify new prospects for major giving.

Annual Giving & Campaigns

  • Lead the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital appeals, and peer-to-peer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing/communications staff to craft compelling donor and member-centric appeals, impact stories, and campaigns that align with Fleisher’s voice.
  • Track and analyze giving and membership trends to inform ongoing strategy, forecasting, and goal-setting.

Stewardship & Engagement

  • Plan and implement stewardship touchpoints, including timely acknowledgments, impact updates, member communications, and donor recognition.
  • Design and execute member events and small-scale cultivation gatherings that celebrate art, build community, and highlight Fleisher’s mission in action.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM database to ensure the timely processing of gifts, memberships, renewals, and acknowledgments.
  • Generate regular reports on donor and member activity, revenue progress, and retention rates.
  • Utilize data insights to inform decision-making and refine programs.

Collaboration & Integration

  • Work closely with the development team to align individual giving and membership strategies with institutional giving, events, and campaigns.
  • Partner with program staff to connect donors and members with the stories and impact of Fleisher’s classes, exhibitions, and community-based work.
  • Serve as an advocate for donors and members across the organization, ensuring their voices and experiences shape Fleisher’s culture of engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of professional fundraising experience with a primary focus on individual giving, membership, or donor relations.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors; consistent progress toward annual revenue goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build authentic, long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey impact and inspire generosity.
  • Experience managing donor/member databases (eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM preferred).
  • Proven ability to design and execute donor/member campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate cross-functional tasks.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Fleisher’s mission of making art accessible to all.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in arts/culture, community arts, museums, or education; familiarity with the Philadelphia philanthropic landscape is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with membership programs, monthly giving, and basic moves management/pipeline development.
  • Comfort with prospect research tools and methods, as well as board/development committee engagement.
  • Experience with digital fundraising platforms and email/marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp/Constant Contact, Classy/Donorbox/GiveLively); light design skills (Canva/Adobe Express).
  • Knowledge of inclusive fundraising and accessibility best practices in donor communications and events.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency (Spanish a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Work is primarily performed in a hybrid setting, with both remote and on-site responsibilities.
  • Some evening and weekend hours for donor/member events and meetings.
  • Prolonged computer use, meetings, and occasional lifting/transport of materials

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience
