Position Summary
DiasporaDNA is seeking motivated and culturally curious interns to join our team for Summer 2026 and/or Fall 2026. This is a part-time, onsite internship based at our headquarters at Cherry Street Pier. Interns will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit programming, event coordination, community outreach, and cultural storytelling. We are recruiting for 2–3 interns per season.
Responsibilities
Support HQ staffing and day-to-day operations at Cherry Street Pier. Assist with festival outreach, marketing, and street team promotions. Create and contribute to content development. Support planning and execution of signature fall events (including Save Philly Festivals Fest and Delicacy). Participate in community engagement and event activations. Assist with educational and wellness programming rooted in The Montgomery Collection. Support vendor outreach and sponsor pitching via calls, emails, and in-person meetings as directed. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the team.
Time Commitment
10–15 hours per week. Two 5-hour onsite shifts per week at DiasporaDNA Story Center HQ (Cherry Street Pier, Studio #13). Mandatory weekly Team Check-In: Mondays at 1:30 PM (can be attended virtually). Mandatory weekly Intern Meeting (day and time TBD; can be attended in person at HQ or virtually). Additional tasks may be completed remotely as assigned. Interns must provide their own laptop.
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship with a $150/month transportation stipend. Interns may be offered an opportunity for promotion to paid work pending successful completion and grant funding.

Ideal Candidates
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program. Interest in arts, culture, community organizing, event planning, or nonprofit work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Reliable and able to commit to scheduled onsite shifts. Comfortable using a laptop for outreach, communications, and content tasks. Passion for storytelling, heritage, and the global majority community.
