The Chamber is seeking a highly motivated and organized Senior Coordinator, Business Attraction and Expansion to contribute to the Chamber’s economic competitiveness strategy through the coordination of business attraction and expansion projects inclusive of but not limited to lead generation research, identification and outreach and conference and trade show planning, execution, and tracking.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development and execution of the Chamber’s industry conference and trade show plan including
- Conducting research to determine potential industry events and define short-list of recommendations to define annual calendar
- Coordinating execution including registration, preparation, marketing materials, and coordination of shipping and logistics, and expense/budget tracking
- Scheduling meetings at conferences as well as opportunistic targeting with other lead targets in that market
- Attending and representing the organization and the region as needed
- Coordinating with Chamber members, investors and partners who are also attending conferences and trade shows
- Creating and maintaining strategic partnerships with conference operators
- Source and follow-up with conference and trade show leads and prospect
- Assisting with data entry related to conference activity
- Coordinate in-region Business Expansion and Retention support efforts including planning outreach, systematically documenting discussions and coordinating responses to identified needs.
- Coordinate research for and development of business attraction and expansion lead lists in specific sub-sectors as directed.
- Execute ongoing proactive outreach to potential leads including lead qualification, meeting scheduling, and pre-meeting briefing documents and meeting support and follow up.
- Assemble requests for information and proposals by compiling packages of data and information in collaboration and with direction from the business attraction and expansion and research teams.
- Maintain and update comprehensive regularly used internal documents and data like pitch decks, employer lists, real estate lists, KPI’s, etc.
- Provide support and execute on incoming business attraction company and country delegations outside of conference and trade show work.
- Track significant economic development events and projects in the Greater Philadelphia Region, including news articles and reports about the region and targeted industries.
- KPI’s responsible for: Conferences attended, leads and prospects supported, strategic relationships established, members & investors engaged, business locations identified, local business expansions and retentions identified.
Job Specifications & Requirements
- A minimum of one-two years working in a related field (e.g. economic development, urban and regional planning). Backgrounds in event planning and administrative support of business development operations will also be considered.
- Demonstrated organizational skills. Project management experience a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities; professional written and verbal communication skills; detail orientation.
- Knowledge of public and private sources of research, data, and information.
- Clear success managing multiple projects and deadlines in a team environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where continually concise, accurate and defensible answers to complex economic questions must be quickly prepared.
- Strong PC skills and knowledge of database management systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Experience with GIS software preferred but not required.
- Computer proficiencies in Windows, MS Office - including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong work ethic; approaches work with a sense of purpose and urgency.
- A collaborative spirit
- Some travel will be required. Valid passport preferred.

Work Conditions
The Chamber is currently working in a hybrid work environment that allows for a flexible work schedule, while requiring employees to work in-person at least two days each week. When on-site, this individual will work in a typical office environment. On a standard workday, the majority of time is spent sitting at a desk, using the computer and speaking on the phone. However, at times, this role will be required to attend Chamber events or related outside meetings/events on behalf of the Chamber. These meetings/events may take place outside of regular business hours and outside of center city Philadelphia.
