Rock to the Future

This role is responsible for supporting our Summer Professional Development weeks by supporting students with engaging, educational, culturally relevant, and social-emotional learning activities in our MusiCore Rock to the Future Summer Program. In MusiCore Summer Program, youth in grades 6 - 12 attend exciting music classes like guitar, bass, drums, piano, choral ensemble, music production, and more, plus receive individualized educational, social emotional support and professional development. During professional development weeks, students will hear from guest speakers, as well as participating in community building activities, and work on creative and musical projects. This role will work closely with the Education Coordinator. 

Reports to: Education Coordinator
Pay Rate: This is a seasonal position with a pay rate of $17/hour.
Schedule: Estimated 22.5 hours weekly, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

  • MusiCore Kensington: July 8th - July 24th, 2025 8:00am - 3:30pm
  • MusiCore Germantown: July 15th - July 31st, 2025 8:00am - 3:30pm

Location: MusiCore Kensington (Kensington Health Sciences Academy, 2463 Emerald Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125) and MusiCore Germantown (Roosevelt Elementary School, 430 E Washington Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and lead a daily engaging activity to support creative, educational, emotional and community building needs with middle and high school students 
  • Assist with communication and engagement efforts for students and families
  • Support staff in maintaining structure and safety during student transitions
  • Help manage orderly and safe arrival and dismissal operations
  • Distribute the daily meal to students and maintain accurate records of the food count
  • Set up / clean up professional development spaces each day
  • Communicate successes, barriers, and concerns daily to the Education Coordinator and MusiCore Manager
  • Ensure the use of positive behavior guidance, equity, and inclusion 
  • Ensure all students, volunteers, and guests are adhering to the Rules of Rock and Rock to the Future’s philosophies
  • Additional cleaning and organizing responsibilities and administrative tasks and program needs as requested from the Education Coordinator and MusiCore Manager
