The Chamber is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Member Engagement to ensure that members receive ongoing value from their Chamber investment by providing support, connecting them with resources, and proactively addressing concerns. Through relationship-building and strategic outreach, the Manager, Member Engagement strengthens member relationships, maximizes renewal rates, and plays a key role in sustaining the Chamber’s membership base.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Member Relations and Retention

  • Implement the Chamber’s standardized member relations processes to foster positive, professional relationships with assigned members.
  • Actively participate in the onboarding process for new members to ensure a smooth transition into the Chamber.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance member engagement by connecting members to relevant Chamber services, programs, and networking opportunities.
  • Conduct regular outreach to assigned members, maintaining a daily 40 daily call attempts (outgoing calls, or incoming calls, for the purpose of interacting with an assigned member while following the member relations strategy.) 
  • Address delinquent accounts promptly and work to re-engage at-risk members.
  • Develop and implement member satisfaction strategies to increase retention and renewals.
  • Monitor membership retention trends and develop initiatives to address potential attrition concerns.
  • Act as a liaison between members and Chamber leadership, staff, and volunteers to foster meaningful connections and provide ongoing support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates to the Chamber’s membership management system regarding all member interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities & Duties

  • Represent the Chamber professionally and positively at all times.
  • Attend Chamber meetings, networking events, and activities, as assigned, to enhance member relations.
  • Participate in member ribbon cuttings and business community events as assigned.
  • Prepare membership and retention reports as required by the Director, Membership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications & Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in member relations, account management, customer relations, or related experience with a demonstrated record of retention success.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage with business professionals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Must be a resident of the greater Philadelphia region.
  • Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Work Conditions

The Chamber operates in a hybrid work environment that allows for a flexible schedule while requiring employees to work in-person at least two days per week. Exceptions to this schedule may be made based on departmental needs. When on-site, work is performed in a professional, deadline-driven office setting with regular interaction with Chamber staff, volunteers, members, and prospective members.

This role involves extended periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and speaking on the phone. The individual will also be required to attend Chamber-hosted or partner events and meetings outside of regular business hours and outside of Center City Philadelphia.

Compensation 

​The base salary for this position is $65,000 annually, plus the opportunity to earn additional performance-based incentives for personal and team-based performance.
