The Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (America250PA) was established by the legislature and Governor in 2018 to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States, Pennsylvania’s integral role in that event, and the impact of its people on the nation’s past, present, and future.

America250PA is now accepting proposal submissions from Pennsylvania artists for the Bells Across PA art series to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States in 2026. The selected artists will execute their designs on three-feet tall fiberglass bell sculptures. These bells will be adorned and magically transformed by local artists and sponsored by businesses or individuals as part of America250PA's efforts to celebrate the commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States.

As part of this project, Philadelphia 250 is partnering with Mural Arts Philadelphia to place 20 bells throughout the city of Philadelphia. The bells will serve as public art pieces that visually represent community voices across 20 neighborhoods. Artists will be commissioned to work with local partners to develop designs for the bell sculptures and execute those designs at a city-provided production space at the Navy Yard in fall of 2025.

PlayArts is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as School Program Staff. As a School Program Staff member, you will play a vital role in providing arts and enrichment programming to children in Northeast Philadelphia. The Wagner Free Institute of Science seeks a part-time Children’s Educator, available to work 25-30 hours/week. This position works as part of the Education Department to develop and implement school-based outreach programs serving neighborhood K-8 students, including the award-winning GeoKids program, an intensive hands-on science program for local elementary schools. GeoKids is a yearlong school day program, now in its 33rd year, which relies on collaborative relationships with teachers, university partners and organizations across the city to create and deliver a hands-on science curriculum. The program takes place primarily within school classrooms and includes out-of-school field experiences, designed and facilitated by Wagner educators. The Wagner’s outreach programs require a skilled educator with an understanding of science and teaching. We encourage individuals from racially marginalized communities to apply because we believe having a staff that reflects the community we serve is critical to our ability to be culturally responsive. 

As a member of the Children’s Education department, this educator will be part of a team of educators that facilitate museum programming for children and families. In addition to GeoKids, these programs include school field trips, museum engagement activities, Family Science Saturdays and Wagner to Go. The Children’s Educator supports the promotion of Wagner programming to the community and represents the museum in community based and citywide outreach events. All Wagner staff are trained to engage museum visitors, work in a historic site and are key to keeping the collection accessible.

Primary Function: Handles the setup, breakdown, and operation of Barnes AV equipment, including audio, video, lighting, or staging equipment. Oversees safe and efficient use of this equipment to support live and virtual art lectures, musical performances, and client events -- including corporate retreats and weddings. Ensures that complete customer satisfaction is achieved and is accountable for all inventory before, during and after each event.

Primary Function: The Museum Facilities Specialist is responsible under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager for providing a first-class experience to the Foundation’s visitors, guests, and employees by maintaining the Foundation’s building and grounds with continual care and maintenance.
