Position Description:

The Senior Accountant Performs day-to-day general ledger activities, with an emphasis on grant reporting and billing along with preparing special exhibit settlements and maintaining capital campaign schedules/reporting. Very strong reconciliation, analytical, and Excel spreadsheet experience is required.

  • Maintains grant reporting, tracking, and payment requests.
  • Prepares special exhibit settlements and revenue recognition entries.
  • Maintains capital campaign tracking and reporting.
  • Maintains investment and endowment schedules, including reconciling monthly statements and calculating annual spending rates.
  • Completes account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Prepares monthly/yearly journal entries, including analyzing information received
  • Prepares indirect cost rate submissions.
  • Assist the Vice President of Finance with special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Position Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting and finance in progressively responsible positions, including experience with spreadsheet, database software, endowment, and grant reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to self- mange
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and a team player

Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
