Located on the banks of a decommissioned reservoir, The Discovery Center is a public greenspace in East Fairmount Park that is dedicated to supporting the missions of our partners, presenting vibrant environmental education programs, and serving as a resource for residents, especially those in the nearby Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. 

The Discovery Center Coordinator supports the mission and daily operations of the Discovery Center by serving as the second in leadership to the Center Operations Manager and acting as a key representative of the center to visitors, renters, and community members. 

This position leads the facility rental program, overseeing booking, communication, and on-site supervision of events, such as Birthday Parties, Nonprofit Fundraisers, Weddings, and Community Gatherings. The Coordinator shares evening and weekend event coverage on a rotating basis with other trained staff to ensure safe operations and high-quality guest experiences while preventing any single staff member from handling all rental events. The Coordinator also assists in visitor engagement, supervision of volunteers and staff, and general facility and grounds oversight.
