About the Position:
The Audience Services Associates(ASAs) are the first to greet our visitors, families, and artists.They help maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring the entrance door, directing visitors to appropriate areas of the center and providing front of house support for all Painted Bride Legacy programming, community events, tabling and supervision of Painted Bride Project Space. Additionally, The ASAs participate in distribution of event collateral to businesses across Philadelphia.
Specific Roles / Responsibilities:
- Provides exemplary customer service.
- Monitor public spaces during open hours at the Painted Bride Project Space
- Assist guests with general information inquiries related both to the Painted Bride and the surrounding area.
- Facilitate over the phone and in person ticket sales and inquiries
- Assist in house management for shows/events as assigned.
- Attends meetings, both on-site and offsite as requested.
- Assist in the setup and break down of events, both on-site and offsite as requested.
- Maintain knowledge of Painted Bride events, exhibits and content, and proactively engage with guests as well as answer questions.
- Basic tech support in the project space (i.e., turning on lights, HVAC, Projectors, etc)
- Miscellaneous tasks such as stocking public areas, keeping the space tidy, and conducting gallery walk-throughs.
- Assist in administrative projects and tasks as requested
- Distribute marketing materials to local businesses across Philadelphia
- Attend internal organizational meetings, training, and gatherings as needed or requested
Desired Candidate Profile / Experience:
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, communication and organizational skills.
- Able to both work independently and as part of a supervised team.
- Play a key role in fostering a hospitable, welcoming, and inclusive environment for guests.
- Must enjoy working with the public and demonstrate friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and a community-centric approach
- Ability to be resourceful and discerning when making decisions that directly impact the organization and the public’s experience.
- Embody an anti-oppressive ideology.
- Interest in multidisciplinary art and the intersection of social justice and community building in expanding artistic practices.
- Proficiency with email, Google Suite. Familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
- Experience with POS (point of sale systems) and cash handling.
- Experience in art production, performance art or arts education preferred.
- Knowledge of the local cultural landscape and community resources.
- Reliable transportation. Current Driver's License and ability to operate a vehicle, a plus
- Able to furnish all required clearances to work in schools and with the general public.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time, on-site position, with virtual meetings as needed
- Some Weekday and weekend shifts (as needed)
- Mostly indoors with some outdoor engagements
- Requires work involving: standing, sitting, talking, or hearing.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
